Cumberland Products is a manufacturer of tools, fabricated steel equipment, and plastic molded products designed to offer solutions for common challenges in the utility industry.
GROEBNER has invested in developing a network of suppliers that bring you the best products in the natural gas industry. One of our key partners for custom solutions is Cumberland Products.
Cumberland Products (a subsidiary of Engineered Energy Products, LLC) is a manufacturer of tools, fabricated steel equipment, and plastic molded products designed to offer solutions for common challenges in the utility industry. They work closely with utility experts, determining real industry needs to simplify the work of field technicians and engineers, while providing excellent and safe results. With truly customized products, Cumberland is able to offer a wide variety of solutions that are needed throughout the utility industry.
While Cumberland offers a broad range of tools and equipment, they can be generally grouped into four categories.
Tools
Field technicians and engineers need to be prepared to meet any number of issues as they work on pipelines on site. Cumberland provides common-sense solutions that allow staff in the field the ability to respond to those issues. One case in point is Cumberland’s Pig Pen. The Pig Pen is designed with tuff mesh and stainless-steel safety collars and cabling to safely collect foam pigs and debris that come out of the gas pipeline while pigging. Most importantly though, the Pig Pen protects those around the job site from projectiles that may otherwise be launched from the pipe end. These are the kind of workable tools that Cumberland custom designs for industry needs.
System Integrity
Because of Cumberland’s long industry experience, they understand the need for products that will help securely protect a natural gas system. One offering is Cumberland's Tee’d Up Marker. The marker is an economical tool designed to give excavating operators early notice of buried utilities. The locating magnet, inside the top of the marker, makes it easy to identify the marker’s location above ground with a standard metal locator. When digging, the flag gives warning to the excavator that pipe is close avoiding costly damage to utilities. Cumberland’s practical approach to system integrity helps your bottom line.
Electrofusion
Cumberland’s electrofusion division focuses on products and tools used to fuse PVC natural gas pipes in the field. Adding to or repairing pipeline in the field presents challenges due to the conditions encountered (soil, weather, etc.) There are also the considerations of hauling equipment out to the pipeline locale. Cumberland offers clamps and scrapers that work in real-world situations and are convenient for the technicians to carry. For example, Cumberland’s Mainline Scraper scrapes both ends of and the mid-sections of a pipe to prepare it for electrofusion, for either couplings or tap tees and branch saddles. One easy-to-handle, durable tool can handle multiple tasks, streamlining the field technicians’ workload.
Fabrication
Because of the Cumberland team’s years of experience in the utility industry, they offer expertise in the design and manufacturing process that standard fabrication shops can’t. While Cumberland Products now has many “off the shelf” solutions for your needs, they continue to work with the industry to fabricate custom items. Their design team can develop products that meet your specific needs to complete your projects more efficiently. One example is their heavy-duty, adjustable pipe stand. This product was designed specifically to hold horizontal piping for new construction or system upgrades. It features a unique swivel top, with a rigid pipe shaft assembly for maximum strength. This is just one example of how Cumberland can work with you on your concerns to develop the right product.
